November 7,1941
Curtis Munson issued his report on Japanese Americans living on the coast.

December 7, 1941
Japan attacked Pearl Harbor without having declared war before. The FBI arrested 737 Japanese Americans because they were supposed to be "dangerous enemies".
December 8, 1941 The United States declared war on Japan.

 

February 19, 1942 President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066. The only significant opposition would come from the Quakers and the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union).
March 21, 1942 Manzanar, the first internemt camp opened.
July, 1942 Burial of the first Japanese Americans to die during internment.

 

1988 President George Bush apologized on behalf of the United States.
